Mercer’s Interior Line Prospect With Proven Size and Development Upside
Mitch Payne is listed on Mercer’s football roster as an offensive lineman, and at 5'11" and 265 pounds in the 2024 roster, he profiles as a compact, leverage-based blocker rather than a pure power-frame tackle, which can make him valuable in a system that prizes quickness, toughness, and reliability in the trenches. Publicly available roster data doesn’t provide detailed stat output for an OL, so the key takeaway is fit: he’s the kind of player you care about if your team wants technically sound line depth with room to develop, not a flashy stat-sheet star.
