UTSA’s Meredith Schmitt is a steady, contact-changing arm with academic polish
Schmitt has emerged as a usable rotation piece for UTSA, going 5-5 with a 6.00 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 63 innings during her 2025 sophomore season, then posting a 1-1 mark with 12 strikeouts in 21.2 innings in 2026 action noted by the program. UTSA describes her as a “commanding presence” who can generate swings-and-misses and weak contact, and she has also been a back-to-back CSC Academic All-District honoree with a 3.84 GPA. She looks like a fit for teams valuing competitiveness, strike-throwing, and coachability over pure velocity.
