Makhi Nelson-Douglas brings size, pedigree, and a linebacker’s edge to NIU
Makhi Nelson-Douglas entered Northern Illinois as a 2021 recruit from Elkhorn South in Omaha and was listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds in his early NIU profile, with 247Sports showing him as a class-of-2021 prospect rated around No. 212 in the Huskies’ all-time recruit rankings[1][2]. He looks like a fit for a program that values physical, downhill linebackers: compact frame, MAC-level toughness, and a developmental profile that suggests special-teams and depth value more than instant star power[1][2].
