Evan Powell brings length, burst, and upside to ECU’s defensive front
In the 2025 season, Evan Powell played in two games for East Carolina and recorded one assisted tackle while preserving redshirt eligibility, then earned Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year honors—nice signal that the staff values his motor and development curve. At 6-4 and about 247 pounds, he fits the classic long, disruptive DL mold, and recruiting notes consistently pointed to his explosiveness and pass-rush upside. He’s still early in his college career, but he looks like a high-ceiling add for a team that wants length, effort, and room to grow.
