NIU forward Johnathan Byrd offers size and efficient finishing
Johnathan Byrd is a **6-foot-9 forward** who gives Northern Illinois frontcourt depth with a compact, efficient offensive profile: ESPN lists him at **2.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 51.9% shooting** for the season, while NIU describes him as added size and depth on the front line. His value is less about volume and more about role fit—he can finish around the rim, rebound, and provide length, and his low-turnover, low-usage profile suggests a steady supporting piece rather than a featured scorer.
