Quayshun Smith brings veteran DB grit, but his current UMass role is unclear
Quayshun Smith is listed by UMass as a senior defensive back at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds, and his recent game logs show active, physical work in the secondary with tackles, a tackle for loss, and even a blocked field goal in the 2024 season[1]. He looks like the kind of compact, battle-tested defender who adds toughness and special-teams value, but there is limited public 2026 production data available here, so his fit depends on whether a team wants a smaller, experienced, high-motor DB who can help in sub-packages and on special teams[1].
