experienced Bethune-Cookman DB with veteran size and local-rooted toughness
Alex Goins is a 5-foot-8, 175-pound defensive back from Rockledge who was listed as a senior for Bethune-Cookman, giving him the profile of a seasoned, compact, physical defender rather than a pure measurables guy[1][6]. His biggest differentiator is experience and versatility in the back end—he brings a hometown edge, understands the program, and fits the kind of scrappy, assignment-sound DB coaches trust in competitive MAC-style/HBCU football environments. Public stat-tracking for his individual 2025-26 impact is limited, but his roster profile suggests a ready-made depth piece who can help with reliability, effort, and veteran presence[1][6].
