Kamron Smith brings veteran, ball-hawking edge to Samford’s secondary
In the 2024 season, Samford CB Kamron Smith was a reliable veteran presence at 6-0, 195, appearing in 11 games and logging 20 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 pass breakups and a forced fumble; in the 2023 season, he posted 14 tackles and 3 pass breakups after transferring in from Charleston Southern, where he built a strong résumé with 59 tackles, 21 pass breakups and 2 interceptions across 18 games. The appeal: he’s experienced, physical for the position, and has shown real disruption skills in coverage and off the edge — a good fit if you want a mature corner who can tackle and make quarterbacks uncomfortable.
