Stanford's Steady Eddie: Will Sweeney Anchoring Special Teams as Long Snapper in 2026
Will Sweeney, Stanford Cardinal's reliable long snapper (LS), is delivering pinpoint snaps in the 2026 season per ESPN's game logs, with zero botched holds through early games—crucial for a team leaning on field position battles amid a rebuilding defense. His differentiator? Ice-in-veins consistency under pressure, honed from high school precision, making him a low-error specialist who elevates punters and kickers without stealing spotlight. No injury red flags, high football IQ, and team-first intensity make him a plug-and-play fit for any program needing unflappable special teams reliability.
