Kyla Martin’s playmaking punch made her a WCC assist leader type for Santa Clara
Kyla Martin was a steady, high-IQ guard for Santa Clara in the 2017-18 season, appearing in all 30 games and starting the final 29 while averaging 8.7 points, 4.3 assists, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game; she finished fifth in the WCC in assists, which underscores her value as a table-setter with real defensive activity. The key differentiator is her floor leadership: she’s the kind of guard who can organize an offense, create for teammates, and bring reliable two-way energy rather than just raw scoring volume.
