Chauncey Andersen brings efficient scoring pop and size to UCSB’s backcourt
In the 2025-26 season, Chauncey Andersen has been a useful freshman guard for UC Santa Barbara, averaging 5.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 14.4 minutes while shooting 46.7% from the field, which hints at real efficiency and a willingness to do the little things. She’s a 6-foot guard with a scorer’s gear—she posted a 14-point career high at Seattle U and showed she can take over stretches, including a 40-point all-star game performance in Oregon. The main question is perimeter consistency, since her 3-point and free-throw numbers are modest, but her size, rebound help, and scoring upside make her an intriguing fit.
