Texas Tech DB Summitt Hogue: Walk-on grinder with special-teams toughness
Summitt Hogue is listed by Texas Tech as a redshirt sophomore defensive back at 5-11, 195, with his recent profile centered more on depth and special teams than headline-grabbing stats[1]. His appeal is the classic walk-on edge: toughness, buy-in, and a no-fuss role player mentality that coaches tend to love, plus the kind of underdog backstory that signals resilience and self-motivation[2][3]. If a team wants a compact, physical DB who fits culture-first and can keep fighting for snaps, Hogue is the kind of player who earns a long look[1][2].
