Drew Ferguson brings Louisiana Tech a hard-nosed, freshman righty with upside and early growing pains
In the 2026 season, Drew Ferguson has already shown the competitive edge Louisiana Tech liked: he earned a first collegiate start, struck out the side in his opening inning against ULM, and later delivered a scoreless two-inning stretch against LSU. The flip side is the adjustment curve — his early results include a rough 0-1 start and an 8.03 ERA heading into another midweek outing, so he looks more like a developing arm than an instant shutdown ace. What makes him interesting is the combo of size, strikeout flashes, and a high-upside pedigree from West Monroe, where he was a record-setting winner with real bat-missing stuff.
