Alex Matthews brings efficient scoring and veteran polish to Evansville's backcourt
Alex Matthews is a steady, high-IQ guard who has shown efficient scoring, strong free-throw shooting, and reliable two-way value; in the 2023-24 season at UTPB, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and shot 51.2% from the field and 85.7% at the line. He looks like a fit for teams that value toughness, shot-making, and composure over flash, with a track record that includes all-conference recognition and a reputation as a dependable, hard-nosed contributor rather than a volume-chuck highlight machine.
