Derek Gesmondi brings on-base savvy and sneaky value to CCSU
Derek Gesmondi is a left-handed outfielder for Central Connecticut with a profile built on patience, contact, and opportunistic baserunning. In 2026, he also logged a steal in a CCSU win over Quinnipiac, and his transfer-era track record suggests a grinder who can work counts and help lengthen an order. He appeared in five games for CCSU and hit .667 with two walks, while earlier 2026 notes from Niagara Falls described him as a 6-foot, 185-pound returnee who drew 12 walks in 14 games. If you want a disciplined, versatile table-setter with some under-the-radar upside, he’s worth a look.
