Shalin Waterford brings steady secondary depth to UAB
Shalin Waterford is a 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back who has provided depth in UAB’s secondary and was noted by the program as a redshirted player in his early Blazer years.[1][5][6] The appeal here is the steady, physical back-end presence: he came out of Sparkman High after posting 63 tackles and an interception as a senior, and his profile suggests a player built on reliability, toughness, and special-teams usefulness more than flashy headline stats.[1] If a team wants a dependable safety who can hold the line, rotate in, and keep things tidy, Waterford fits the “trust him not the box score” mold.[1][7]
