Freshman Sharpshooter Shane Potts Emerging as Belmont Abbey's Scoring Spark
Shane Potts, a freshman guard for Belmont Abbey, is establishing himself as a reliable scorer with elite three-point range. In the 2025-26 season, he's reached double figures three times in six games, including a career-best 17 points against Young Harris where he connected on five three-pointers. The Goose Creek, South Carolina native brings strong academics (4.2 GPA) and community commitment to the Crusaders. As a freshman still developing his all-around game, Potts offers immediate scoring punch from deep and the intangibles of a scholar-athlete—ideal for programs seeking a high-character, floor-spacing guard with upside.
