Bearcats Add a Power-Armed, Multi-Pitch Righty in Charlie Dieruf IV
Charlie Dieruf IV is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound sophomore RHP for Cincinnati who arrived from Miami (OH) after pitching in 16 bullpen appearances last season, including 1.2 scoreless innings against the Bearcats and a look against Wake Forest in the NCAA Tournament. His appeal is the classic relief pitch mix: he can bring mid-90s heater velocity, spin a slider with bite, and still show a usable changeup/cutter-style look, giving him real strikeout upside and late-inning utility. For a staff that values power arms and competitive transfer arms, he looks like a fit.
