Tommy Davis brought veteran versatility and special-teams juice to Illinois
Tommy Davis entered Illinois as a seasoned defensive back with real all-purpose value: he was praised by the program for his buy-in, leadership, work ethic, and willingness to do whatever the team asked. In the 2012 season, Illinois valued him as a true veteran presence, and his Combine-style pop showed up at Pro Day with a 10'11" board jump. If you want a DB who plays with effort, toughness, and a pro-minded approach, Davis fits the “steadying influence” mold rather than the flashiest-stat line archetype.
