seasoned Saluki DT with proven run-stuffing chops
Beelen is a veteran interior defender for Southern Illinois whose value has been built on toughness, leverage, and gap discipline rather than flash. In the 2015 season, he played in three games and recorded 10 tackles and one tackle for loss before a season-ending injury, and earlier game logs show he was already contributing against FCS competition. He’s the kind of nose tackle who can absorb contact, hold the point, and make life easier for teammates behind him — a useful fit if you need a reliable, physical interior presence.
