Sean Nelson brings freshman upside and run-stopping potential to Indiana’s defensive front
Nelson enters Indiana as a freshman defensive end with clear developmental upside: he arrives from a high-production high school résumé and has already earned a spot on the Hoosiers’ active roster. His appeal is the classic edge prospect profile—explosiveness, physicality, and room to grow into a disruptive college defender. There are no major public college production stats yet, so the real story is projection: if you want a young DE who can be molded into a pressure-and-setting-the-edge piece, Nelson is a bet on traits, not track record.
