UC Irvine Guard Derrick Strings Seeks to Maximize Limited College Opportunity
Derrick Strings, a 6-2 shooting guard from Lawndale, California, has struggled to make an impact at UC Irvine, averaging just 4.6 points and shooting 36.7% from the field during his college career. While his modest offensive production and low assist rate (0.5 APG) suggest limited playmaking ability, Strings represents a depth option for programs seeking a developmental guard. His fit depends on your team's patience with a player still searching for consistency and confidence at the collegiate level.
