a tough, versatile Pitt road-grader with leadership juice
In the 2018 season, Alex Bookser was a senior captain for Pitt after starting 26 games over his career and earning Honorable Mention All-ACC recognition in consecutive seasons, which tells you he was trusted, durable, and battle-tested. At 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds, he brought legitimate tackle/guard flexibility, plus a strong academic reputation and a reputation as a homegrown, WPIAL-grown competitor who fit Pitt’s identity. The only real caution flag in his profile was off-field discipline in 2017, but on the field he looked like the kind of physical, intelligent, multi-position lineman a staff can plug in and lean on.
