Leata Sherlin emerged as a clutch bat for San José State in 2026
In the 2026 season, Leata Sherlin — a freshman utility player for San José State — quickly showed she can impact a game in multiple ways, including a 6-for-8, four-RBI day against Saint Mary’s and a 3-for-4 outing with a homer against Nevada. She was also praised in preseason/roster coverage for arriving with championship pedigree and an MVP résumé from the June Elite Invitational, which hints at competitive edge and big-moment confidence. The takeaway: versatile, productive, and already a lineup spark — the kind of multi-tool fit coaches love.
