Isaac Smith brings veteran edge juice to Michigan State’s defense
In the 2026 season, Isaac Smith profiles as a sturdy, experienced Michigan State edge/lb hybrid with legit disruptive upside: after transferring from Texas Tech, he played in all 12 games for the Spartans in 2025 and posted 26 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss, while earlier stops showed 45 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks across 2022 and 2024. He’s a long, physical 6-foot-6 presence who can help both as a pass-rush piece and a rotational run defender, and his value is the kind coaches love—steady, versatile, and ready for a starting-caliber workload.
