Jake Casteel brought high-volume, instinctive linebacker play to Northern Arizona
Casteel’s NAU profile is built on production and reliability: over four seasons, he piled up 250 tackles in 44 games, with a peak 2018 campaign of 90 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and an interception. His value goes beyond the box score—he was a proven, durable middle-of-the-defense presence with a knack for finding the ball and finishing plays, which is why he was later trusted in coaching roles. If you want a linebacker who diagnoses quickly, tackles consistently, and brings a seasoned football IQ, Casteel fits that mold.
