J.D. Woods brings veteran route-running savvy and dependable hands to WVU
In the 2026 season, J.D. Woods is listed as a senior wide receiver for West Virginia, giving the Mountaineers a seasoned option at 6-foot-1, 189 pounds after playing in 26 career games with six starts[1]. His earlier WVU production showed reliable chain-moving ability, including 61 catches for 637 yards in 2012, and reports from his career note a shift from outside receiver to inside receiver, which points to versatility and trust in the slot[2][3]. If a team wants a polished, experienced target who understands leverage and can work the middle of the field, Woods fits the bill[1][2].
