South Carolina's Physical Freshman G/F with Untapped HS Pedigree
Shamiek Sheppard, a 6-6, 225-pound freshman guard/forward for the South Carolina Gamecocks, posted modest 2014-15 freshman stats of 1.6 PPG, 1.3 RPG, and 27.8% FG (per ESPN), reflecting limited minutes in a deep rotation, but his high school dominance—14 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 APG as a senior at South Shore HS and 17/11/2 at Fishburne Military—hints at breakout potential with his bruising frame and rebounding tenacity. A Brooklyn-bred competitor signed out of a post-grad powerhouse, he's a high-upside glue guy ideal for teams needing versatile, physical wings off the bench.
