Experienced Mercer corner with special-teams value and early-career depth upside
Corey Barnes is a Mercer Bears cornerback whose value is built on experience, versatility, and special-teams reliability rather than eye-popping box-score production. Mercer’s roster lists him at CB, and his freshman season included action in six games with work across multiple special-teams units, which signals a player trusted to contribute in game-day roles and likely comfortable in physical, assignment-heavy football. He is a sensible fit for teams that want a dependable, coachable defensive back with depth potential and a willingness to do the dirty work.
