Mercer's Career Rushing Leader with Elite 4.5 YPC and 2024 Single-Season TD Record
Alex Lakes is Mercer Bears' career leader in rushing yards (356) and touchdowns, averaging a team-best 4.5 yards per carry on 80 carries in the 2025 season, while holding the single-season TD record with 17 in 2024. His differentiators include relentless intensity, a 'train for high performance' mindset over mere mental toughness, and a proven ability to execute explosive plays like an 8-play, 75-yard TD drive. Lakes is injury-free, highly committed (not bound by a performance clause), and brings a competitive, data-driven personality that elevates team intensity. He is an ideal fit for teams seeking a durable, high-output RB with championship intensity and leadership.
