Charlotte’s stat-stuffing, defense-first guard who does a little bit of everything
James Zimmerman stood out for Charlotte as a true all-around contributor: the 49ers listed him as ranking fourth in scoring and second in rebounding, assists, blocks and first in steals, while describing him as a strong defender whose effort shows up in games and practice. In the 1999-00 season, he averaged 9.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 98 assists, 52 steals and 14 blocks, plus a 1.63 assist-to-turnover ratio—excellent glue-guard stuff. If you want a tough, versatile, uptempo-friendly player who impacts winning beyond the box score, he’s your guy.
