Freshman RHP Eli Baker Flashes Intriguing Upside Amid Steep Learning Curve at Radford
A 6'2" right-hander out of Lyon County (KY), Radford freshman **Eli Baker** is a long, projectable arm who spent 2026 getting his feet wet against Division I lineups, logging 10 relief appearances and 10.1 innings for the Highlanders while working to tighten command and limit hard contact.[3][7] His game experience includes multi-inning relief outings and small flashes of strikeout stuff, suggesting a future as a durable bullpen piece or potential starter once he adds strength and refines his pitch mix.[3][6] Competitive and willing to attack hitters, Baker profiles as a developmental upside play for programs seeking a young, moldable RHP with size and time to grow.
