Jonathan Dimas Is Ahead in Houston’s Kicking Battle
Jonathan Dimas is the current frontrunner for Houston’s 2026 placekicking job, with coaches giving him first-team reps on field goals and extra points after a strong offseason showing. His calling cards are leg strength, calm under pressure, and a reputation for work ethic — he was a 2024 Kohl’s Senior Showcase winner after going 18-for-18 on field goals from out to 65 yards, plus a Sam Foltz Award winner for character and effort. He has not yet attempted an FBS kick, so the upside is real, but the résumé says he’s not just a warm body — he’s a legit contender.
