A&T’s fearless DB coach with elite return-man roots
Tony McRae is best known at North Carolina A&T as a program legend and, as of 2025, the Aggies’ defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator[1][2]. In his playing days, he was a disruptive, high-energy playmaker: 2015 All-American honors, first-team All-MEAC recognition, nine career interceptions, 22 pass breakups, and 112 tackles[1][14]. He also brought game-breaking special-teams juice, including four career kickoff-return touchdowns and a 2015 season that ranked ninth nationally in kickoff-return yards per return (28.3)[14].
