veteran UNLV guard with steady two-way utility
Demetrius Hunter is a Las Vegas native and experienced UNLV guard whose value comes from steadiness, positional familiarity, and a low-drama, team-first profile. In the 2002-03 season, he averaged 7.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 22.6 minutes while shooting 36.9% from the field and 33.1% from three; the prior season he posted 7.2 points and 1.1 assists in 20.8 minutes. The big differentiator: he reportedly returned from Achilles surgery and still gave the Rebels veteran minutes, which suggests toughness and buy-in. He looks like the kind of guard a coach trusts, even if he isn’t a headline-grabber.
