Jackson State’s big-play tight end with receiver instincts
Jabari Payton brings TE size with a pass-catcher’s feel, and his Jackson State profile has shown big-play utility rather than just chain-moving work. In 2015, ESPN listed him as Jackson State’s tight end, while game logs show he was involved in explosive plays, including a 60-yard reception in a 2015 box score. The key fit question is upside: if you want a tight end who can flex into mismatches and threaten vertically, Payton’s appeal is obvious; if you need a pure in-line mauler, his value reads more as a hybrid weapon than a blocker-first bruiser.
