Wes Holcombe brings gritty, underdog QB energy to Western Carolina
Wes Holcombe is a hard-nosed, developmental quarterback whose appeal has always been tied to toughness, persistence, and earning his spot the long way; at Western Carolina, he was described as a walk-on who became a scholarship player and a competitor who kept pushing for the job. His game profile suggests a steady, team-first QB rather than a flashy stat-padding machine, which makes him intriguing for programs that value resilience, preparation, and leadership as much as raw arm talent.
