High-upside, speed-first linebacker with developmental buzz
Kaveion Keys entered Penn State as a four-star linebacker with prototype size and rare speed, and reports from 2024 highlighted him as a developmental special-teams and rotational candidate rather than an instant star[1][4][12]. His biggest differentiator was athleticism—he reportedly ran track in high school, and observers pointed to his burst as a real separator at weakside linebacker[12]. That said, he was removed from Penn State’s roster in August 2024 and was no longer with the program, so any evaluation now comes with major off-field context[3][14].
