Colby Weber is emerging as ECU’s big-framed freshman arm with real upside
In the 2026 season, Colby Weber has flashed swing-and-miss stuff and poise for East Carolina, opening with a five-inning, six-strikeout debut and carrying a 4.58 ERA with 19 strikeouts in early action. At 6-foot-7, he brings a starter’s frame, a right-on-right power look, and enough early trust to earn starts as a freshman. The hook here is upside: he already shows competitiveness and strike-throwing ability, and his high-school resume suggests a pitcher who knows how to win. If your team wants a long, projectable RHP with frontline traits, Weber is one to watch.
