Ansleigh Smith brings versatile catching depth and timely pop for South Alabama
Ansleigh Smith is a versatile **catcher/outfielder** for South Alabama who gave the Jaguars production in 2026, batting **.196** with **8 RBI** and showing enough value to remain part of the lineup mix. Her appeal is less about eye-popping power and more about **defensive flexibility**, college-tested experience, and the kind of steadiness coaches like when they need coverage behind the plate or in the outfield. She also helped South Alabama reach the 2026 Sun Belt semifinals, including an **RBI double** in the tournament, which hints at clutch utility when the stakes rise.
