Power-Blocking FB with 247-Pound Force for New Mexico
Jered Metzger is a 5-11, 247-pound redshirt freshman fullback for the New Mexico Lobos whose primary differentiator is elite power blocking that physically dominates defensive fronts, a trait highlighted in the 2007 Lobo Football Outlook as 'pure power blocking' [1]. While his high school stats from Manzano High School show a versatile background as an RB/WR [9], his current value lies in his intensity and physicality as a lead blocker rather than traditional rushing volume, making him an ideal fit for teams needing a tough, no-nonsense presence in the backfield to set up playmakers. With no reported injury history and a reputation for high-intensity work, Metzger brings a gritty, reliable edge that elevates the entire offense's physical identity.
