Defensive Tackle with High School Pedigree Building at Northwestern State
Charlie Matthews brings a proven track record as a dominant high school defensive tackle from Airline High School (Bossier City, LA), where he earned Class 5A all-state honors and was named the Vikings' defensive MVP. At 6'1", 280 lbs, Matthews combines solid size with functional athleticism (4.87 40-time, 365 lb bench press). His high school resume—52 total tackles, 15 solo stops, and 3.7 tackles per game—demonstrates instinctive play recognition and gap discipline. Now developing at Northwestern State, Matthews represents a prospect with foundational defensive line skills and the physical tools to potentially contribute at the FCS level. Best fit for programs valuing high-motor, fundamentally-sound defensive linemen willing to develop through the college ranks.
