Logan Smothers brings veteran size, polish and strike-throwing potential to Murray State's staff
In the 2026 season, Logan Smothers is a redshirt senior right-hander for Murray State at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, giving the Racers a mature, physical arm with experience from Gulf Coast State College[1]. He stands out more for presence, consistency and a high-academic, high-accountability profile than flash—he was recognized on Murray State’s fall 2025 academic list, a small but telling signal of reliability and buy-in[2]. For a team looking for a dependable bullpen or rotation piece, he fits as a steady, seasoned pitcher who can add depth without needing the spotlight.[1][2]
