Malik James brings veteran DB chops and ball-hawking instincts
Malik James has been a longtime defensive-back presence for Drake, and his recruiting profile highlighted all-conference and academic all-state recognition plus 16 pass breakups and two interceptions in high school. Drake’s roster history shows he developed into a multi-year DB, which points to durability, football IQ, and positional flexibility—traits coaches love when they need reliability in the secondary. If you want a steady, seasoned defender who can stay sticky in coverage and play smart, James is the kind of low-drama, high-trust fit that quietly makes a defense better.
