Justin Dole was a tone-setting NIU safety who made plays in coverage and against the run
In the 2002 season, Justin Dole was a fifth-year senior safety for Northern Illinois who earned MAC West Defensive Player of the Week honors and turned in a strong box-score impact, including an interception return against Kent State and an 8-tackle outing against Wisconsin.[1][2][3] The best differentiator in his profile is all-around reliability: he showed up around the ball, could tackle in space, and had the kind of veteran presence coaches love in the back end.[1][2][3] For a team looking for a physical, experienced safety with proven playmaking flashes, he fits the “trust him on Sundays” type of role — just with a MAC badge and a little extra grit.[1][3]
