Austin Stief brings size, experience, and sneaky production to Ball State’s edge
Austin Stief enters the 2026 season as a 6-foot-4, 215-pound senior DE/EDGE transfer from Davenport, where in the 2025 season he posted 35 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 19 career tackles for loss, and 4.5 career sacks while earning two all-conference selections. He also brings academic credibility and steady upward momentum, which suggests a high-floor, plug-and-play edge presence rather than a pure flash recruit. If you want a disciplined, older defender with proven production and enough length to create problems off the edge, Stief is worth a look.
