Lina Apodaca has been Long Beach State’s leadoff sparkplug in 2026
In the 2026 season, Lina Apodaca has been one of the Big West’s most dangerous table-setters: she led Long Beach State in hits and doubles, hit .390 overall and .447 in conference play, and set a new program record with 19 doubles. She also gave the Beach a real big-game edge, including a 3-run homer in a win over No. 4 Oklahoma. The fit here is obvious: high-contact, high-motor, pressure-friendly offense from a right-field leadoff hitter who shows up against elite competition.
