Fawzy Omotoso is a young NIU edge with size, upside, and early-game experience
Omotoso enters the 2026 season as a redshirt freshman defensive end for Northern Illinois at 6-foot-3 and 251 pounds, with one tackle in his 2025 freshman season and a strong high-school résumé that included team-captain honors, 40 tackles and 2 sacks in 2024. His appeal is the blend of length, added bulk, and early power potential—he looks like a developmental trench piece who can grow into more disruption if his hand usage and burst keep improving. For a team needing a high-motor, projectable edge, he’s a classic “bet on the frame” candidate.
