Harvard’s shot-blocking anchor with a defensive edge
Miriam Rutzen was a Harvard frontcourt stalwart whose calling card was defense: in her Harvard career she ranked fifth all-time in blocks with 99, eighth in games played with 107, and earned the program’s Best Defensive Player award twice. In the 2011-12 season, she showed real two-way value with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double against Cornell and finished as a reliable interior presence who helped push Harvard into postseason play. If you need toughness, rim protection, and a player who doesn’t blink in big moments, she fits the bill.
