low-usage guard with efficient touch and versatile prep pedigree
Alex Vertus was a limited-rotation guard for Louisiana Tech in the 2023-24 season, appearing in three games and averaging 2.7 points in 6.0 minutes while flashing a neat little sample of efficiency, including a season-high six points against Dillard. His best calling cards are floor-spacing pedigree and backcourt toughness: at Polk State, he averaged 6.6 points and ranked second on the team with 34 made threes, and at Malcolm X College he produced 17.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 61 assists, and 53 steals, which hints at real two-way feel. Not a finished product, but a scrappy, experience-heavy guard who could fit if you want energy, shooting, and connective play.
